Description

The Reference Block Type 2 is designed for the routine performance verification of visible dye penetrant and fluorescent penetrant testing systems. It is particularly suitable for checking partially used penetrant materials, opened containers, and stationary penetrant inspection systems.

The reference block is manufactured from high-quality stainless steel. One half of the test surface is hard chrome plated and features five star-shaped crack patterns of different sizes. The other half is divided into four areas with varying surface roughness. This design allows reliable evaluation of both the sensitivity of the penetrant system and the effectiveness of the intermediate cleaning process.

Application

The Reference Block Type 2 is used for routine monitoring of penetrant testing materials and the overall inspection process. By comparing the indication patterns with previous reference inspections, changes in the performance of the penetrant system or the inspection process can be identified at an early stage.

It supports quality assurance by helping to ensure consistent and repeatable inspection results throughout the penetrant testing process.

Note: The Reference Block Type 2 is intended for routine process control and monitoring of penetrant testing systems. It is not designed for determining the sensitivity classification of penetrant materials or for the direct comparison of different penetrant testing systems
